Roof Leak Repair & Leak Detection
Where the water shows up inside is rarely where it gets in. We trace leaks to their true source — flashing, underlayment, penetrations, seams or drainage — and fix the cause, not just the symptom.
Common leak sources we find
- Failed underlayment beneath tile roofs
- Cracked or lifted flashing at walls, chimneys and skylights
- Deteriorated pipe boots and vent collars
- Open seams and ponding water on flat roofs
- Clogged scuppers, gutters and roof drains
- Previous “patch” repairs that trapped water
How we find the leak
We start inside: stain location, attic moisture, and the path water is taking along rafters and decking. Then we inspect the roof above, working uphill from the stain. When needed, we water-test sections of the roof in a controlled order to confirm the exact entry point before we open anything up.
You get photos of what we found and why it’s leaking, so you understand the repair before you approve it.
Prepare before the rainy season
In Los Angeles most of the year’s rain falls between November and March, often in a few heavy storms. Small leaks that go unnoticed all summer show up all at once. A pre-season inspection and minor repairs in the fall cost far less than emergency tarping and interior damage in January.

Roof Leak Repair FAQ
My roof is leaking right now. What should I do?
Move valuables, catch the water, and if a ceiling is bulging, carefully puncture it at the lowest point to drain it into a bucket. Then call us — active leaks get priority, and we can tarp the roof the same day when weather allows.
Is a roof leak covered by homeowners insurance?
Sudden damage (for example from a storm or a fallen branch) is often covered; gradual wear usually is not. We document the cause with photos, which helps you and your adjuster make that call.
Why does my roof only leak in heavy rain?
Wind-driven or heavy rain reaches places light rain doesn’t — under flashing, through weak seams, or past failing underlayment. It’s a sign the protection layer is compromised and should be checked before the next storm.
